@Xkeeper Yeah! I don’t know why they thought that was a good idea!

The preview of new TweetDeck totally misses one of the benefits of TweetDeck, which is being able to show feeds from multiple accounts in one view—making you need to switch between accounts manually, like the regular Twitter website. Avoid.

mastodon meta question

@wolfgang Migrating doesn’t move posts, no, it only copies over your following and followers lists, AFAIK.

You can still respond to posts from your old account though, if the federation list allows it.

@ripp_ batbeeps for randomly spamming haha funnies; beeps-bot for robot content

Continuing my reign of tyranny of being an unapologetic weirdo in work Slack.

@ripp_ If it’s Spangle, they seem to have an automated script that updates some stuff in a repo for them every day :p

Given the… greater incentive to use Mastodon as of late, I’ve ended up in a somewhat happy medium using Mastonaut on Mac and Toot! on iPhone/iPad.

It’d be nice if you could pile multiple account’s home timelines on one screen (ala TweetDeck, Tweetbot)!

@huxley Same, though only one day thus far. I imagine they might have a bit of a backlog given the mass migrations going on,.

I signed up for Cohost, not as yet-another-Twitter-replacement, but because I wanna write posts with custom CSS actually.

@codl I don't think that term for them is particularly well used nowadays, naw. I mainly remember it from the Team Orangered vs. Team Periwinkle thing they did back in 2013.

Vaguely tempted to write my own Mastodon/Twitter crossposter so that I can also have a self-hosted archive of all my amazing takes and opinions.

The most important thing for new people to understand about mastodon is that etymologically it means “boob tooth”

now more than ever I'm proud to have played a part in standardizing the official Trans Furry Network Protocol (ActivityPub for short)
