I don’t know how much time learning of “goreman” (a replacement for “foreman”, a process manager) has saved me by allowing me to tell it to restart individual processes without restarting all of them, but it feels like a lot

honestly what I would give for an iTunes-like which interfaces both with my iCloud music library and with services like Soundcloud and Bandcamp, so I can make a giant playlist for the day and mix in new things to try out too

I don’t think you can even write them in Swift yet (and given my experience a few years ago trying to do that for ScreenSaverEngine, I don’t really want to do the work and *then* discover it’s impossible)

I kind of want to try making a QuickLook generator which you can dump a script in to call out to other things to actually generate the preview, rather than having to write ObjC which does the same work?

no lie this was maybe one of the best experiences I’ve had in a video game and it lasted most of an hour, and was all caused by a damn physics glitch

eventually I found safe haven on another freighter which warped into the system, laying low there before emerging and gunning it for the system’s space station and ultimately saving after about 43 extremely tense minutes haha

I then stood my ground, given I’d done nothing (really) wrong, and was treated to about a twenty minute chase with the system authority, who I could not evade in my basic ship, and who had disabled all my speediest forms of travel

this glitchy flickering went on for about five minutes before I was suddenly out, …and came under attack by the system authorities for “attacking” the freighter 😅

(I may have fired a few rockets to see if it would unstick me, to be fair)

relatedly: the thing where Steam now opens the desktop chat window at startup on a Steam installation configured to launch into big picture mode is um, completely fucking horrible and breaks your ability to use big picture mode as intended at all?

honestly I very sincerely would love to see no man’s sky on the switch, but I do understand if the GPU compute requirements just put that out of the realm of possibility
