like how is “force quit a game that has hung” actually this much fucking work on Windows in the year of luigi 2018 that I usually just reboot?
honestly that Windows doesn’t open Task Manager in the perfect isolated graphical void from which you can open it when you press ctrl-alt-del, leaving it hidden behind games which have taken over your actual desktop and hung, feels like one of Windows’ biggest remaining flaws?

(and for the record I’ve successfully merged an npm-shrinkwrap.json by hand before so)
people complain a lot about javascript wasting space by having each module have its dependencies in a subdirectory but I’ve never had so much dependency trouble as trying to do shit in two different ruby projects at once so at least that approach fucking works
