tired: buying a fresh pair of AAA lithium cells
wired: shoving wires into a PlayStation controller port to tap its 3.3V±0.25V supply

The replacement shell seems to match up with the original in most important ways, but it’s clear from the weirdly shaped Nintendo logo that it’s an aftermarket clone. Will have to see how it sits with me!

Interestingly, the shell of the link port is corroded on the bit that faces the rear of the console. I suspect that’s a sign of where my fingers sat while playing it over the years!

My tri-wing screwdriver arrived so of course my game boy pocket is already open. Nothing seems obviously exploded/corroded/busted from a quick glance so I think I’ll try giving it a solid current source later and see what happens.
