Badly describe a favorite game: in the past, hay bales were composed of an infinitely deep non-newtonian fluid capable of not only storing an infinite amount of dead bodies but also acting as a perfect shock absorber for bodies falling onto it from between 10 and 300 feet up. Also everything you know about history is wrong.

Any Assassin's Creed game.

K: "Careful, you might get turned into a plush."
A+M: "Ohhh noooooo, don't throw me in the briar paaaaatch! That would be terrible!"
Me: "...wait, wouldn't that be more like the velcro patch?"

@vahnj If this is the internet for kobolds does this mean it's the Kobweb?

I remember that my phone camera software (Open Camera, on Android) has an HDR mode.

This city is beautiful at night.l

hey friends!

it's friday night and i'm riding a wave of creativity fuelled by strong identity feels and a hint of manic energy, so you know what that means?

Art thread!!!

tonight i'm gonna be playing around with sculpey to bring my newest 'sona, Desmond, to life. Desmond is a collection of mind-linked artificial/synth jellyfish that form an otter-like critter, infused with glow.

i have *no* idea what i'm doing, but i'm gonna keep it to this thread!

There are things that make me cackle like a mad scientist (for that is one side of me).

This is one. youtu.be/bAdqazixuRY

I keep my phone on silent, because I'm not fond of ringtones. The problem with them is that you get trained to react to a particular series of notes or sounds... and then you start hearing that everywhere. I'd rather not ruin my music by thinking my phone is ringing.

The trade-off, then, is to keep my phone on vibrate. This isn't usually a problem.

Except today, where my leg directly /under/ my phone has been twitching every 10 seconds or so, and it /feels/ like my phone is buzzing. o.o

A good chunk of Eastern Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Oregon are all on fire. The smoke has accumulated over Seattle.

This is the sun. This is ash falling from the sky. This is...heckin' creepy, honestly.

Second time this summer.

"I want to meet her. She needs to know who I am. Who she is. "

"She'll be home soon. And...no marking your territory in this house."

"Hah! No, I am within civilization, and I will become civilised. Domesticated."

"I missed you so much."

"I did too. I love you."

"Awooooo!"

"Awooooo!"

"She has your eyes. And your howl."

"Is it that surprising?"

"I didn't know you could be born that way."

"The best of us are. It's better than the other way, through blood and teeth and fear."

"So...are you taking her away now?"

"If she wishes, I will teach her. If not...I will stay and become less. For her. For my blood."

"We can do both. I'll teach her how to be human. You can teach her how to be Other."

"...okay, I'll stay."

"I think she'll like that."

"So you're back."

"Yes."

"It's been years, you know."

"It's easy to lose track."

"I have a daughter now."

"I know."

"She's yours."

"I know. Why do you think I left in the first place?"

"To protect me?"

"To protect everyone around you. I would have killed anyone for even looking at you. Territorial instinct."

"Oh. And now?"

"Now she's old enough to hunt on her own."

I just wrote about 2700 words in the most sustained bout of focus I've had in a long time. :-)

Felt pretty good. Helped that the imagery was really strong in my head, too. ^_^
