Terrible Comics Crossover

A crossover idea that will never happen: an evil self-replicating robot from the Marvel universe manages to somehow take over five big robot lions and then combine into one very huge evil robot.

Age of Voltron.

#crossedwires #promotion: NEW CROSSED WIRES STICKER SETS ARE UP! Including two classic and popular designs accompanied by four brand new ones. These will see their con premeire at MFF, but you can buy them RIGHT NOW at oreillyjay.tictail.com !

I'm also putting Epiphany on clearance! We're down to our last few copies, and while I'm really proud of them, I'm also sick of looking at my dead name on their covers. Help me get rid of them!

Playing a new board game called Professor Evil and the Citadel of Time, in which there's a professor who steals treasures through time.

My headcanon: The Professor is actually FtM trans, and his full name is Professor Cameron San DeEvil. Retired but actually not.

(Thanks to Xurnami and Grace for the name assistance. :-D)

Trance; life; clubbing

This is what fuels my drive to do some small-scale DJing. Heck, maybe larger-scale eventually. Cons have shit music (to me) too, and being even just a furry con DJ would be nice. (If the cons weren't all run by the same local cliqueish furry DJ conglomorate).

I can at least play it myself, if nobody else will. I don't have a club or a fancy lighting set... but I am sure as hell more queer than anything downtown. :-}

Trance; life; clubbing

Unfortunately that's my options. Weekend-long camping events, or clubs with a crowd that's very much not my type of people, because, again, the club owners have a very narrow (cis, straight, young, rich) view of their clientele, and cater near exclusively to that.

And the thing is, trance music is not a dying art--it's alive and well and still strong overseas.

Here? Nobody plays it but the wrong kind of club.

Don't give me trap, dubstep, house... I need trance.

Trance; life; clubbing

I've been going to clubs to dance to DJs I recognize (largely in trance) since the late 90s.

All I've ever really seen is that club owners and promoters have been trying to push a very specific commodified experience, rather than the rave culture. And I stil lament that I only came into this music on the waning end of raves.

I've never been to a Massive, or any big weekend-long dance festivals that replaced them. Wondering if I should. Because clubs are... not doing it.

Though I wouldn't go as far as saying trance music /saved/ my life, it's definitely a lifeline for me.
I discovered it as soon as I started discovering good music, and alongside many other discoveries in college, when I finally had room to expand myself into that wasn't space taken up by all the things my parents wanted for me.

Trance music can be a communal tribal experience, a connection, a wonder.

Except in America apparently.

I just came up with a short, succinct way of helping people understand the word tenses of Transgender:

"A Transgender person is not a person who is transgendered in the same way a Latino person is not a person who is Latinoed."

Addendum to the gender thoughts:

I'm so non-binary I'm actually trinary instead. :-P

Gender; Plural

(and yeah, I may have said all this before, just musing to myself mostly.)

Gender; Plural

I'm three people. Each with a slightly different gender identity. This makes things intetresting.

The otter is pretty much demi-boy. The bird is demi-girl but pretty fluid. The kobold's gender is 'toy', or maybe 'null'.

I guess that makes me, as a system, gender-fluid. Or at the very least very very non-binary.

I still like the term 'Enby'! :- }

Trans; explicit; dorky

Just realizing that a lot of the trans folks I know who have had or are planning to have bottom surgery have gone to only a small handful of doctors.

This leads me to thinking of identifying their work as if it's a brand name, or a consumer part to swap out.

"Oh, sure, many of my friends got the Suporn model, but I think I like the looks of the Bowers better. But that custom job out of Oregon is really appealing, too."

"What the hell do you mean, DMCA violation? It's a BLOOD TYPE."

"Yes, but you still based it on proteins developed in Minecraft IV. I'm afraid you have no case."

"Oh, god."

"I'm sorry, Mx. 41. We still have plenty of options. We can try to get this tried in a progressive jurisdiction. Take it to Jakarta Submarine, hope it's read by a Pyratbyran sapience..."

"What do I do until then?"

"I dunno. Pack your things and report to Notch."

As Greer Selkirk awoke one morning from uneasy dreams, she found herself transformed, in her bed, back to a gigantic mammal.

It was no dream. Her room, a fine room for a peaceful burrower, only somewhat too large, lay quietly between six mottled walls of protein.

She slid back into her earlier position. "These atavistic bouts," she thought, "make a bug quite foolish."

Already, she felt the urge to daytrade, dominate, and share unsolicited opinions on media networks.

Hey Mastofolks...

Is there a good Masto instance that is useful for, say, freeform surreal microfiction? Similar to that odd subset called Weird Twitter?

I have one on Birbsite but I kinda want to have a backup on Mastodon to go to.

Thanks!

Of course, only after posting do I realize I really should have started the hashtag instead. :-)
