@starkatt that last relationship. I 100% knew better, but I talked myself into "taking a chance." the chance did not pay off. entirely avoidable, entirely my own fault. :\
@mawr that's about the point I usually get stuck too. :/

thoughts on book length and on Abandoning A Series
@InspectorCaracal@tootplanet.space @anthracite I have no idea, given how far I got with it. XD
thoughts on book length and on Abandoning A Series
@anthracite @InspectorCaracal@tootplanet.space I'm reminded of how many times I've had the Thomas Covenant series recced to me, and that I got like 20 pages into the first book and said "NOPE" and threw it across the room. I don't care if it gets better later on; I got to The Stopping Point and fucking *stopped*. Done Now, Don't Care
twitter, cartoon reboots
@anthracite @Thaminga I vaaaaaguely remember that happening, and my first thought was "yay Thundercats!" (because I loved the original when I was That Age) and then I took one look at it and thought "... never mind." XD
when owls attack
@Altivo barred are the most common around here; we've got great horned and... several others, but every autumn some percentage of Seattle people get mauled by barred owls preemptively defending their turf while nesting/courting. I've been buzzed by one, though it didn't actually hit me, fortunately--the description I've read is "like being hit in the back of the head by a bag full of scissors." I don't want to try it! XD
@Elizafox emjoy sleps!
ethics of renting
@kara@occult.camp @Kyna *nod* that is much simpler, and a one-time deal, instead of an on-going relationship, as it were.
ethics of renting
@Kyna @kara@occult.camp if you're thinking of renting it, since you live a long way away from the property, getting a good, ethical rental management company is a must. the management company will take a cut of the rent, but they'll be versed in local property laws, able to interact with renters, and already have relationships with local repair/upkeep businesses.
