a long post about the sun
for those of you who don't live in the pnw, imagine sunlight.
now, imagine that sunlight is much more orange than it should be-like it's sunset orange at 10 am.
it's intensely uncomfortable, cause you know that the sunlight that comes through the window at that angle is supposed to be white-yellow, but there's this weird orange light coming through your window at 10 am, and it's wrong, at it keeps being wrong and orange throughout the day
that's what it's like
A man is at a friend's funeral. After the proceedings, he approaches the widow and asks if she minds if he says a word. "No, of course not," she replies. So he grabs a glass and taps a spoon against it to get everyone's attention, and when the muttering dies down, he clears his throat and speaks: "Plethora." He puts the glass back down and everyone continues their conversations. The widow turns to him, with a tear in her eye. "Thank you," she says.
"It means a lot."
@Aradia@mastodon.social @starkatt ugh, I hadn't thought of it being *that* smoky... that may have something to do with how much I'm sneezing today, too. >___<
Bun opinion on CW use
@KoBunny @emanate @Heffboom_Konijn someone using a CW as a "this is a harmless joke thing you should click/LOL TRIGGER BAIT" trick would earn an instant unfollow, mute, and block from me. I haven't seen it done that way, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's common usage on instances that aren't federated with the ones I use for Very Good Reasons. :|
@orrery @emanate @Heffboom_Konijn I use it pretty much exactly as I used to use the cut tag back on LJ--trigger warning, long-post warning, you-might-not-be-interested-in-this-subject warning--and sometimes just to be silly, or because I want to make sure that the person reading is willing to make the minor investment of clicking a link before seeing what I wrote, rather than glancing across it randomly.
@tastymochafox Sailor Rawr! :D
@Jacel yay! *sends goodluck thoughts*
