My best of luck to James Damore in getting a job, anywhere, ever. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-08-08/google-fires-employee-behind-controversial-diversity-memo
back from store! not too badly overheated, though it was much warmer than I was expecting, especially in the direct sunlight (I really should have taken my hat), and taking a shower and turning on the air conditioner as soon as I got home seems to have helped. but! groceries got! oh and I need to call Costco to get this Rx refilled, I will do that now!
@aprrrl@witches.town @Ulfra_Wolfe@witches.town @Cascadiarch@witches.town I have to admit that I don't have a lot of experience with current systems--I've hardly touched anything other than Pathfinder/5th Ed in over a decade. but I was super skeptical that it'd be possible to RP within the restrictions of WoW, until I actually got into it and discovered just how much room there is for it, if you look for it.
@Ulfra_Wolfe@witches.town @Cascadiarch@witches.town true--I've been ridiculously lucky with my DMs since I first started gaming. and a player either has to have a good GM to build up their confidence or have a *very* strong will and creative streak to manage good RP in spite of a bad/unimaginative GM.
@Ulfra_Wolfe@witches.town @Cascadiarch@witches.town mmmeeeeehh. yeah, there's going to be restrictions on stuff because of the rules system, but that--should never be a barrier for players to roleplay and develop their characters. it's not something that's restricted to a particular genre, it's more a symptom of bad GMing, players who don't know how to RP, or just a general lack of experience all around.
@Thaminga @egypturnash @Ulfra_Wolfe@witches.town >:=8D DERG FRENS
@egypturnash from the official GGC feed, sounds like they've got it under control. still, that's a--difficult thing for them to have to deal with. ah well, I wish them luck, and you too! ;)
@MeimuHakurei@mastodon.social @Ulfra_Wolfe@witches.town @KawaSeadrake ooh--I still have the Pathfinders Draconomicon, that has info on building dragon characters. that sounds like so much fun! if y'all decide to get this off the ground, definitely hit me up, I'm super keen! :D
@Jacel wooo, enjoy! :D
@KawaSeadrake @Ulfra_Wolfe@witches.town when I played a red dragon in D&D the GM let us choose our alignments, instead of going from the book. Rasha was "chaotic well-intentioned, but with a temper." XD
Mango Smoothie
@literorrery the only thing preventing me from getting the ingredients I don't have for this TOMORROW is that I don't have a blender. :|
... I suppose I could get a blender tomorrow... >____>
FWG Slack
@literorrery tbh it kinda sounds like somebody had a chip to grind on their shoulder (something like that). that sounds really frustrating and upsetting, and I'm sorry you had to deal with it. :|
One more mention: http://twitter.com/lvlUpBot lets you register a birthday (or any other significant date) and will compliment you every time it comes around!
This is important, because really, getting through another year is an /achievement/ and you should be reminded how awesome you are for it.
@egypturnash D: I didn't go to GGC last year, but I'm hoping to this year. that's... never a good sign. >___<
Every now and then I find someone's writing -- article, comment, post, whatever -- and I just say to myself
"Wow! This is someone I should block on every available outlet to help insulate myself from shitheads like this."
Now, TECHNICALLY I have to hear/read what they're saying in order to grasp it, so one cannot really claim I'm just "rejecting" their ideas.
I rejected their ideas a LONG time before I ever saw them. I'm rejecting CONNECTION with THEM.
And that's not a bad practice, IMO.
