not going to trans pride today. as soon as I decided that my anxiety evaporated, which tells me it's the right choice for me. :] I need either more time to prepare myself, or a buddy to go/meet up with there, and I don't have either this year. next year, I'll definitely have at least one of those two, maybe both?

on the other claw, I do need to go do errands today. fortunately they're light ones. so I'm off for now, seeya later!

@mawr Shoreline, Aurora Village. I think taking the E downtown, then taking the light rail back up, would do it. but now I'm having the "if I go I'll just wander around smiling vaguely for an hour feeling increasingly out of place until I break down and flee" feelings, which is already making me tear up. so, there's that too...

@mawr like, I want to go... but, logistics. this is one of those times that if I had a damn car, this would be a much easier decision to make positively, but having to bus there and back makes it uuuugh how even. plus hot.

the anxiety is about--sun/heat, logistics of travel to a strange place at an unusual time, feeding myself, finances, will I know/be able to find anybody I know there--the usual stuff that keeps me from doing a lot of events, especially in summer. :P

if the metric is "do you want to do this because it sounds like fun" vs. "does the thought of doing this fill you with anxiety" then nope. :|

pondering plans today; weighing inclination/options for actually going to Pride for once.

@KawaSeadrake *thoughtful nod* I'm going to wait and see how this current round of health care idiocy settles out before I make any definite moves, but... would you be willing/able to be a source of advice for such things? or is there another person or resource you'd recommend? I'm wondering if maybe I should try to land a helpful therapist now, to start laying the groundwork...

@vahnj my favorite Pathfinder character is, and will always remain, Hiss, the awakened velociraptor barbarian interdimensional mercenary, but I did play her for something like six years so I have a lot of good memories to draw from.

@vahnj I haven't had a lot of 5e characters yet (only three, not counting one-shot "getting used to the system" non-characters), but Varyik is rapidly becoming my favorite. she is SMALL FIERCE TANK who has decided that her hobby will be digging warrens under every little village the party stops at, as much as there's time for, and storing her "treasures" in them. XD she feels much safer in her burrows than in any flimsy wood "tavern"... and most of those places have cellars...

@Jacel augh, that's a downer, hon. :( have I burbled at you about lucid dreaming? I can give you advice about how to get started--I know people who used to have chronic nightmares and bad dreams, who were able to control and change that with lucid dreaming. *cough* sorry, I'm a bit of an oneiromancy evangelist. ;)

@vahnj (but no really 5th Edition D&D has a book out that gives fantastic detail about kobolds in that universe, and stats about how to play one, and I made one as a character and it's SO MUCH FUN <33333)
