Discussing neighbour's attack and blood
@WelshPixie yiiiiiiiiieeeeeeee. just went back and read about it... that sounds... yikes. so much yikes! D:
@anthracite I KNOW RIGHT. I've been looking stuff up and the whole FODMAP thing is just.... uuuuuggggghhhhh, but I'm going to be giving it a shot. and whining about it a lot, probably. ;_____;
HMMMMM. http://www.sciencealert.com/non-coeliac-gluten-sensitivity-caused-by-fodmap-carbohydrate-fructans?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+sciencealert-latestnews+%28ScienceAlert-Latest%29 "Your 'gluten sensitivity' could be explained by something else found in wheat." it seems plausible, given that I've been having continued (and even worsening) digestive problems while keeping gluten-free. I'm going to have to delve into this "fructan" stuff. if it's the cause... I'm going to be VERY SAD because it's in GARLIC. ;______;
new friends migrating over to mastodon, if you're looking for a more tweetdeck-like interface, kurotodon is a google chrome plugin that lets you have all your mastodon instances in one place. you can get it here:

@starkatt *laugh* you've got a better track record than Spouse and I, then--we usually try to figure it out before the reveal but our track record is maybe 30%. XD
In a similar vein, do you like monsters and similar friends? Do you want an absolutely obscene character limit (1,666 at last count) and tons of emoji in colors outside the usual earth tones? Do you just want a place other than the main instance for some reason? Try monsterpit.net for a friendly place with friendly people and PROBABLY no deathtraps in the floor.
@Ferrovore ah. hmm... unless it said something about "gay/non-cis/[other] authors only" then you're technically clear, of course. I do understand the feeling of being unsure about--pushing into a space for other people, but I also know that in my own experience, the anxiety about it has 95% been my own depression, and when I checked other people were totally fine with me being there. if it were me I would ask the OP if it was okay for me to be involved, just to reassure myself either way.
Remember folks, if you abandon Twitter, Facebook or Google, it's not a boycott, it's a STRIKE.
Because you're the [unpaid] workers that earn them billions of dollars in capital.
When you don't post, they don't get the benefit of your labour. And when you don't use, they lose money.
Social Media STRIKE days should be a thing.
@Ferrovore why on earth wouldn't it??
@mawr :P
I kind of want .social to close for new accounts at 100,000. I'm more & more concerned that the task of moderating & nurturing a meaningful community within the instance will become far too large for the resources of our tiny, basically volunteer team. :S
I also feel like massing so many people on one instance weakens the potential of mastodon in general to play with models of building interconnected, human-scale communities.
@ThatDamnCat okay yep, that works, thank you! :D
@ThatDamnCat hmmmmm... I think I can make that work...
@ThatDamnCat nope, sorry, try again? (yes I know I'm giving no context for this)
