@chalcedony@octodon.social yep. that, plus commercialization of systems = automatic class-based gatekeeping, leading easily to other bases for gatekeeping, plus lack of info security/autonomy--when you're made up of information, who controls the system *really matters*. (cf: "Glasshouse," Charles Stross, specifically the Infowars, which is some seriously squicky trans/posthuman stuff)
