@zebratron2084 hon... excavations are still ongoing, and you've brought so much light to so many people--you haven't ruined it. you're having to live through a version of "death of the author" that is one of the painful hallmarks of *truly* successful creation. your kid is going through a rebellious "I HATE YOU, PARENT" phase, which is always obnoxious and not always resolvable to the parent's satisfaction...

@eredien @zebratron2084 I don't have a rice cooker--I just make it on the stove, but I've been making it for so long I've gotten *really good* at it--basmati rice, anyway; I've given up on calrose. :P

@guerrillarain faugh, I should do something like this--but I'd need a very small book I can carry in my pocket, or I'd have to lug a bag around (and I've been forgetting the notebooks I've *already* put in my bags)... oooorrrrrr I could figure out how to use some kind of notepad function on my phone??? NAAAAAAAHHHHH

@zebratron2084 @eredien that's why you don't make the food while in a mood like this, you make the food while in a balanced, reasonably *good* mood, and save it in the freezer or something. I've been applying this principle (sub "busy":"mood") with the slow cooker and OMG IT WORKS SO WELL. on a whim I got some apples and used the slow cooker to make an... apple pie-like ice cream topping, and I've been eating leftovers of that, and it's FANTASTIC. next: stoup! :D

@zebratron2084 I have a recipe for tuna noodle casserole that's remarkably similar to a mac & cheese cake, and now I'm thinking of making that--although I really should prep ingredients for stoup before they go off.

this weather is very conducive to meh, isn't it? I prefer rain and all that, but even I can feel it. Spouse is back at work, though, so at least I can start Getting Stuff Done again...
