I had a lot of fun and it was surprisingly and wonderfully social for the short time I was here and I should probably try to go for more than just one full day next year.
But the whole 'how's it going, let's muddle around until a topic magically arises'.... It fuckin' won't! Not from me at least!
@emanate Same same same. And then there's the awkward middle place where someone has a topic but they're doing basic conversational 'hey how's it going' handshake anyway and I'm just internally going 'please just get on with it' c.c;
I'm admittedly guilty of doing the latter thing myself, starting off with a yip or hug or other nudge when I actually want to talk about something; I need to get better about that myself.
*surveys the last few weeks of chat logs, as social connections have been picking up*
I'm thinking I need to start putting 'not good at small talk' in my intro posts to things. ;)

@emanate The great thing is that the whole general 'brown drink' sort of sodas are basically mulled already. Mulling is just a mix of a lot of the same spices. It's like drinking just the mull. :9
@literorrery Hm! I wonder if the acidity worked in its favor in this case? Ordinarily I don't like Diet Pepsi because it tastes too sweet to me.
@KoBunny Oh yeah I've seen the "Hot Dr. Pepper" ads which, actually that sounds really good too.
Oh no. Warmed-up soda is good actually.
I had to drink diet pepsi at lunch because the diet coke was out. I don't usually like diet pepsi much at all but I was thirsty and needed caffiene.
As is my way I drank too many cups and started getting the chills.
As I was heading back to my desk with the last cup, thinking I would get a hot drink to warm back up, I saw the microwave and had a Horrible Idea.
And it was… good? Like, would drink again!
I am no longer chilly, but I am very confused. XD

Other cool/weird things I saw there, not mentioned in the article:
- A Games Workshop store, marked by (of course) a big Space Marine statue to match the big Gundam statue in the Bandai store.
- Another 'arcade' area that was just aisle upon aisle of crane games
- A "spy gadget" store (?!)
- A really good comic shop that we went to semi-regularly for most of our time living in the Bay.
I knew someone who worked at the Bandai store; it was him that store, and the Gundam film at the anime film festival Bandai sponsored (that my friend comped for me) that got me watching the series to begin with.
A LOT of my early good SF memories are twined up in that building, wow.
