@anthracite well, it's probably easier to get it out rather than the taser, since they seem to keep their guns ready on a split-second's notice and you have to get an act from the governor signed in triplicate to start one even thinking about maybe un-snapping the taser, right?

Hey. Hey you. You're here. And you're cool. And you're gonna be alright. I don't know what's going on with you, but I have 100% confidence you'll make it past whatever it is. You've gotten this far and are capable of so much awesomeness. Ganbatte!

re: Putting together a good EDC equipment list. RFC

@Motodrachen I'm putting one of those together too, but I want to get my normal-ops sets standardized and tested so that I'm not constantly thinking about them and trying to keep track of the contents of different bags.

re: Putting together a good EDC equipment list. RFC

@tastymochafox Probably not something i need to much of, but lotion would probably be a good addition, thanks!

@starkatt @Heffboom_Konijn I wish I had taken pics of my first self-built rig. Vixenbox 1 was in a pretty standard min-tower running an ABit MB with an 64bit Athalon CPU back when 64bit was still kinda new, and I ran Windows XP on that for years. I was really proud of the transparent and illuminated power supply. It lit up my whole room back in Sunnyvale.

@wobblewuffess that sounds absurdly useful and hard to search for!

re: Putting together a good EDC equipment list. RFC

@IrisKalmia THANK YOU!

@mawr A lot could happen in 5 years. We might even find the chassis we're looking for near there and have to roll through to retrieve it.

@mawr April 8, 2024. Looks like it goes right through Cleveland. That would be an awesome trip to take Kyna on.

The River Tribe has decided that my contributions have greater value and is adjusting their compensation accordingly!

That's a good thing to hear just before I take a whole week off!

Had a dream a few nights ago about needing a real haircut. It felt so strange, but really nice having enough hair to be able to run my fingers through it. Woke up a little sad.

re: in which I'm not great at selling three movies

@Leucrotta I wanted to see Mortal Engines, and I haven't seen Point Break yet, so that's 2 out of three that you sold me on with just titles!

HRT Milestone (+)

Requested my first refil of sublingual E-tabs since I switched to them back in February. This is something I'm doing to myself and it keeps happening and yeah i get freaked out about it sometimes, but I'm still happy as long as those little blue thingies keep dissolving under my tongue.

re: KA-33, Huskybots of Gateway (OC infodump; CW: Sci-fi concepts, nerdery)

Huskybots have their chemical analysis sensors that are located at the front of their muzzle modules. The sensor can be shielded by a moveable plate to protect the delicate sensor surface. The shielding can be retracted on demand, but also periodically opens at random as part of the subsystem that helps monitor and maintain Gateway's atmospheres. Having the sensors on mobile platforms means data can be very granular and is useful for doing volumetric and wide area sampling by taking readings from several platforms all at once.

Huskybots love things that smell like desserts.

(Yes this was me trying to figure out why my platforms would have wet noses like real dogs.)
