Quasi-Compulsory Sexuality in Communities
Even out here in queer spaces, there isn’t even common *words* for advancing the closeness of relationships without them becoming (implicitly) sexual.
You’ve got “friend” which can mean basically anything, and then “partner” is fairly neutral, and for anything else...you’re muddling about on your own.
It’s discouraging.
Quasi-Compulsory Sexuality in Communities
LB from @mawr is an excellent thread that I really recommend (unfortunately Mastodon isn’t great at linking to threads).
IMO as a fellow ace, the problem isn’t really that that “script” (workflow?) exists, but the total lack of alternative scripts...
Quasi-Compulsory Sexuality in Communities [1]
There's been some conversation on the subject of sexuality in (primarily queer) communities; the tendency for folks meeting each other to follow this script over a short span of time:
1) Get to know someone
2) Cuddle with them
3) Have sex with them
This script is pretty well ingrained for many in the communities I've been part of, and on the surface there's nothing wrong with it, but it causes problems I feel should be more broadly discussed.
@HereticSoul it's so good!

@Mous as much as the nook would be stellar as an eel tank, I don’t think so
