Even out here in queer spaces, there isn’t even common *words* for advancing the closeness of relationships without them becoming (implicitly) sexual.
You’ve got “friend” which can mean basically anything, and then “partner” is fairly neutral, and for anything else...you’re muddling about on your own.
It’s discouraging.

IMO as a fellow ace, the problem isn’t really that that “script” (workflow?) exists, but the total lack of alternative scripts...
