@Sangria Oh my goodness, saaaame. :D

Relatedly, I keep wanting to remake the races in Stellaris to make a game that's just a bunch of cuddle friends in space. :D

@jkb@octodon.social Oh, definitely. Going somewhere that vast and inhospitable-- having to carry your own food and water just to survive your time there is an absolutely humbling experience.

@Ratttz Ahh, that's legit. I didn't realize that was all hand soldered. o.=.o

Hi Awoo ♥️

I like riding motorcycles through trees that make me feel like an insignificant speck

How about you? What makes you feel humbled?

@Ratttz @Kentaro Those batteries might expire before they run out of power from running those LEDs constantly. XD Talk about overkill!

All in all, that looks like a cheap contraption made to throw away when it dies. The way I figure it, why spend money on making it nice?

@ravenclaudia Good luck!!

Best advice I have to offer: look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself "I don't need this job. I will survive without this job." until you believe it. Takes a lot of stress off. It's helped save my anxious ass for years. XD

Space Operas

@kelseyhusky The Evil King Of Space declares space dancing illegal; a new lethal dance is discovered and summarily used to remove the king.

A pilot and their crew realize that the extraction methods used to pull fuel directly from stars is killing the stars and has already shaved billions of years off of their lifespans; they turn against the industry in a valiant yet unsuccessful attempt to halt it, but are ultimately successful posthumously as their story and discoveries spread.

Politics

@literorrery That's solid.

I don't have answers, just lots of questions and interesting facts to speculate on.

Politics

@literorrery I agree with that to an extent, but this divide has always been around. We just never realized the sheer extent of it. The good news is, it seems to be shrinking. I think a fairly good litmus test on this is Trump's approval rating-- which is dropping steadily.

Politics

@literorrery I'm not quite ready to call America over yet, but I think it's a distinct possibility that things might get to that point in the next few years.

We have _serious_ problems that our current politicians aren't even willing to admit the existence of-- but then, a majority of their constituents today feel that response is rational. That's changing.

From the perspective of the PNW's political climate, it's easy to see the country as unsalvageable.

*hugs*

@green @Jacel The redwoods in the Santa Cruz mountains were also lovely, though. ♥️ ♥️ ♥️

@Jacel @green That's where that photo was taken, in fact. ^^
