@Fuego Ahh yes, Amazon has not yet developed instant in motion delivery. Yet.

@literorrery @vahnj @Ulfra_Wolfe@witches.town *sneaks smol bits of foodcrime under the sofa*

@Fuego Why not switch to an SSD and use an external for large storage?

@Nine I say, you can plush where you want to, a place where they will never find
And you can act like you plush from out of this world
Leave the real one far behind,
And you can plush!

@Mycroft I'd be happy to build things like that into a plush upon request! I just don't want to be held responsible for the tech that accompanies it. XD

@Mycroft I think I want to keep things old school-- in part because I think there's far too much WiFi in things that really don't need WiFi, in part because I don't want to have to figure out how to handle charging / batteries / interfaces, etc, but mostly because providing IoT tech support is probably among the worst things I could imagine doing as a consequence of a hobby. ^^;;;

@talyxian That's okay. I'm dumb as polyfil but we're both still here and alive, right?

Just do what I do and find smart friends to help out where your soft plush hands and wits don't work so well. ^^;

@Ulfra_Wolfe@witches.town @vahnj @literorrery The way I figure it, once it's designed, you can make a pattern, and making 2 only takes a third more effort than making one does. After you've made 2, making 3 more gets even easier-- and so on.

I've considered using a 3d modeling program to design the panels, and a laser cutting table to get the cuts in multiple copies just right simultaneously-- leaving only the sewing
and stuffing to be done manually (with aid of a machine, of course).

@literorrery @vahnj @Ulfra_Wolfe@witches.town Way to blow my whole plan wide open, Buni. *grin*

sentience, free will, etc

@literorrery @Fuego Huh! I always thought of magic as reaching outward as opposed to inward. That... could explain a few things.

sentience, free will, etc

@Fuego Hmm! That's an interesting theory.

sentience, free will, etc

@Fuego This begs the question of what true sentience is in that construct; the absence of influence from emotion & personal experience?

I'm convinced that "free will" is something we only exercise meaningfully approximately once or twice a week in those moments in which our routines break down... but must one have and exercise free will to be considered truly sentient? Is any form of routine a burden to that concept?

I have no answers; just things to consider.

my "depressing" view of sentience

@Fuego I think about this a lot, too... and I'm not sold on it entirely, but it's definitely an interesting perspective.

I think we're capable of elevating ourselves from that line of thought-- but I would also argue that there are many levels of "sentience."

The animal levels range from instant reaction without thought to considering consequences before acting; The human levels are far more diverse but always chained to emotion and previous experience.

depression support post

@vahnj @Ulfra_Wolfe@witches.town I really need to get serious about making plush frens.

Kobold plush frens are far too precious not to exist in abundance. :D
