@Goldkin We're all unfortunately ruled by late capitalism, much to our misery. I would choose so many other options before tech, but tech is the only thing I can do that enables me to survive in this hellscape of an economy and associated system.
There's always the option of fleeing to a place where the cost of living is substantially lower and making a happier living via the internet, though that comes at major costs to social life and frequently personal safety. :x

@shel I have a weird accent due to moving around a whole lot. I grew up in Minnesota, raised by east coasters; lived in Scotland for a half year, Canada for 2 years, then California for 10. There are fragments of all of those in my accent today. ^^;

Remember folks, if you abandon Twitter, Facebook or Google, it's not a boycott, it's a STRIKE.
Because you're the [unpaid] workers that earn them billions of dollars in capital.
When you don't post, they don't get the benefit of your labour. And when you don't use, they lose money.
Social Media STRIKE days should be a thing.
