@KawaSeadrake That's the thing though -- this is not a problem specific to this company. This is just a product our company may or may not choose to use. It's a product literally thousands of other companies are making use of *right now.*
The only reason this stuff is still under the radar is because we only see the end results which are intentionally innocuous. Also, most companies using these tools aren't fully utilizing them.

I'm in a conference call with the company who's product we're replatforming to use, and they're showing off their built-in marketing tools.
Great fuck. Their _built in tools_ now include automated social media scraping to categorize user interests so you can market to them. You can open any customer profile and see all their calculated interests in a tag cloud.
None of this is okay. None of it. I feel sick.
