@aoife iirc some video player still supports outputting to it

@aoife ooooh have you heard of Blinkenlights? the Chaos Computer Club once got the chance to turn a building's windows into a giant display

also it's a crime that I can't play video games on the ultrawide monitor at work, it's so big and pretty

@trwnh I don't think I've ever used a micro sim, but I remember getting a new one with a micro cutout and then my next phone (eventually) was an iPhone 5 and I had to get a new one again

I need a lot of screen space because I don't have object permanence, hide a window and it might as well not exist

Show thread

broke: stacking window manager
woke: tiling window manager
bespoke: just put all windows next to each other. need more windows? add more screens

there is no reason for Masto to automatically clear the toot field when I click to reply to sth gdi

@trwnh okay I got it, they got a ton of these basically for free and thought "eh might as well"

@trwnh wait this thing doesn't read mini SIMs? or are you saying that microSIMs were already around

in an ideal world I'd jut replace all my walls with monitors

Show thread

@trwnh okay yeah I was suspecting that

still makes me wonder who thought that was a good idea? the only argument for a USB SIM reader is that most people probably don't already have one

using an ultrawide monitor at work makes me seriously consider an ultrawide as my next main monitor at home

thing is I would still want a secondary monitor and that'd probably be way too wide… and having Freesync and hidpi are probably more important

@trwnh yeah I don't know what I was thinking

also what do I know about airlines

@trwnh are you joking this sounds like you're joking

@trwnh I don't, but I've also never been on a plane

@trwnh I've seen that post, that's why I'm asking? also it's been a while since I've seen anything come with a driver miniCD

@trwnh for what purpose? it's been ages since people stored their address books on their SIMs
