that said you should also turn off all of the suggestions in windows because they're terrible, but it's not some magic bullet

if you reboot and notice that windows is suddenly using a lot less RAM, 99 times out of 100 the thing you did to make it use less RAM is to reboot and kill a bunch of demand-start services which will reload over the next couple hours and leave you back where you started
