@ashe@tech.lgbt I mean I get where you're coming from but honestly in practice it's just nice to not be limited by the language. There's plenty of cases where I use markdown without html support, and I've gone md->LaTeX with pandoc before (I never tried writing html but considering how powerful pandoc is I wouldn't be suprised if it works)
