Can somebody who has an iPad please help me I have a German and an English voice installed on my iPad as standard I have selected German in the manual it says it should detect whenever the text is English and switch to the correct voice but when I ask my iPad to read the toots on mastodon A German voice read the English text which sounds just horrible does somebody know what I can do to prevent that? #visuallyImpaired #blind #disabled

@smaecks@chaos.social no, the hardware needs to support that driver, it's pretty common though because that's the one that doesn't suck
I don't have a windows machine with a touchpad so I can't tell you how to set scroll direction
@smaecks@chaos.social I'd like to remap them in iTunes though, for some braindead reason they map them to track forward/back even though the app has forward/back buttons
@smaecks@chaos.social MS made the high-precision touchpad stuff because none of the manufacturers got their shit together, god Synaptics' software was just a mess
@smaecks@chaos.social idk Windows software handles them correctly, and they're just buttons, I can just map them to stuff
@smaecks@chaos.social idk I don't buy mice that often but my current one can be had for 25€ (5 less if you get it in black), has six buttons, a scroll wheel, RGB and I can save settings to its internal storage so I don't have to have Logitech's awful software running

@MxMetaphor it's way slower on most instances, it's just mastosoc that's kind of a firehose
