@frostwolf yeah, that. I think I mixed it up. Near seems to have a 10-mile radius though, and the ability to "drop" things on the map
@frostwolf I think Near lets you place stuff in an overlay over the real world for others to discover
@frostwolf Near is more like Ingress/Pokémon Go though
@jamesgecko yeah, seems like FreshRSS is designed to work around limitations like that, you can even send cookies and spoof user agents. It has a whole separate mode for scraping websites as well, in case they "forget" to provide an RSS/Atom feed

Since last year, I've been obsessed with teasing apart who really owns — and finances — 4chan.

Alright, I've now set up FeedMe on Android and Reeder on iOS, pretty happy with the UI on both. The hardest part was showing the image title text on FeedMe, but it turns out to have a setting that just displays image titles in the feed
okay yeah FreshRSS's feature to replace RSS feed content with website contents via CSS selectors is a game changer
@radio_alergy this is what I'm replacing, in terms of style I'd like something that at least tries to match it
