@socks where do I put the function? In (corporate, idk if it's actually necessary) Java you need a class to hold your function for you. Also you wanna be able to type-check and, if required, swap out the whole construct, which classes are useful for

@socks I don't understand where you'd want to use a function instead of a method

thing is, these patterns exist for corporate codebases that have to be worked on by a lot of people and like, comply with regulations, you won't always end up with the most convenient solution

can someone please invent a type of rechargeable battery that doesn't go bad in storage… it doesn't have to be that good

someone's trying to clear DSR before the cloud servers shut down twitch.tv/jaydeezus

omg Soken (if he's real) is blessing the cloud test server

@agatha though they recently made a new website because they're going back to also doing written reviews so there's probably some stuff missing

@mynameistillian "what's the masto meme for today" used to be a meme in the early days

@njion@queer.party everyone can fall for phishing emails, don't beat yourself up over it

maybe the issue with email is that we only get bad emails these days, spam, receipts and notifications from companies, shit like that. Do people still email their friends? I haven't emailed a friend in so long

@skruffl Valve really has a problem with verifying popular games even though they don't meet all the requirements

@mary@queer.af no Android support, but there's a MR for a standalone PWA but no sign of it getting merged

@mary@queer.af there's focalboard.com by the Mattermost people (though it's community supported now?) You should be able to self-host it for yourself without needing a Mattermost

@elilla idk if they still do repair manuals (probably just for their business stuff?) but they should list all the field repairable units (FRUs)

@elilla it has user-replaceable parts, like RAM and storage, right?
