unsolicited stopgap solution
@mcc if you're okay with it looking weird as long as it works, you should be able to turn on resizing/moving anywhere on the window while holding a modifier using gnome-tweak-tool
@Jenetrix Noto Emoji has monochrome glyphs for "rainbow flag" and "transgender flag" that I think are quite clever
