To repeat: There is a "user style" which removes the stripey poles from CWs in Mastodon 4.3, which you can install by for example installing the Stylus browser extension and going to this page:
https://userstyles.world/style/18496/mastodon-cw-no-barber-poles
With this "user style", CWs look like this:
re: On the new Mastodon Content Warning design
@Siph @packetcat I wish Mastodon could take a page out of cohost's book where CWs were special tags and you could auto-open/ filter them selectively (and also filter normal tags)
re: On the new Mastodon Content Warning design
@packetcat yeah the interface design is doing the featuyre dirty
I made a little web tool to present/search the “find-your-friends.json” file from your #cohost data export in a nicer view https://friends-of-eggbug.vercel.app/
Everything is stored locally and it remembers your file so you can use the page as a quick way to access your list for later.

LRT uh oh??? itch io???? are you gonna be okay
@MindmeshLink it looks good though, the dev has a bunch of highly rated small utility addons
@MindmeshLink sure, but full disclosure, I just looked for the first adoon that looked good (bc I knew it had to exist)
@MindmeshLink it doesn't keep a list but this at least lets you see when a feed is indicated https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/feed-indicator/
@suricrasia I think they removed the last ones a few years ago

trans, genitals, Boost please <3
I think it's what it means that's the issue.
When a cis man's clothes indicate he has a penis, it means nothing.
When mine, a trans woman's, do - it's automatically angry, sexual, a Statement. Political. It needs to be some of those things. I have some say in how I sell it, but those are my options at the best of times. Deviant or defiant.
Yes, even to cis people who are allies and know I'm a woman. They may accept my reasons for having a dick, but I need reasons. And often Reasons. Even if they'll react with "you go, girl", I need to put out a message for them to react to. Be it meek or brave.
Cis men don't.
I don't mind being the Angry Trans. But I hate that I have to be some kind of consciously chosen kind of trans.
Making this one public so it's Boostable. Hope it reaches some sympathetic cises and makes them think. About something I have to have a take on. I need to be a historian, political scientist, biologist, activist, diplomat and PR rep to comfortably exist. Y'all don't.
If you're trans, it's already likely you'll Boost this (thanks!). If you're cis and fancy yourself an ally, I dare you to.
@rotopenguin @mcc on the steam controller (with just one physical stick), an opinion among enthusiasts was that using the two pads was the way to go for games that used both sticks, which I used to play through almost all of NieR: Automata (some of the twin-stick segments were really annoying to play that way)
@eramdam Discord is so good at making sure you can actually understand people on the other end! their echo and noise suppression might be a bit overeager but at least it works and can be turned off for people with decent microphones
I'm planning to set up a bit of a workshop area in my new apartment and I think I'll eat the import costs to get some of their build mats for it, not only because I wanna support them but also because they look very nice and well thought-out
