Edit 2: problem fixed.
This was fixed by the two pull request:
1. When composing a DM, pasting a link will not create a quote: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/pull/36690
2. When composing a DM, it'll not be sent if it quotes a toot from someone not mentioned: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/pull/36689

Here is the update version:
1) Alice DM Bob via mastodon
2) Alice send a link to Malory's post in the DM to Bob
3) Alice does not click "cancel quote".
4) Malory receive a notification with the DM content.

In mastodon 4.5, linking to a toot in a DM, will leak the DM to the person your are talking about 🤦
