@noracodes yeah it's impressive, I've had awoospace down for half a day and it took like half an hour to catch up with the rest of the fediverse
it becomes a problem when the queues get too long
@lojikil no, I've used an instance for a short time before the channel I wanted to view moved to Matrix
@Oric no, but there's relays that kinda give you a bunch of instance's toots all at once for this purpose, idk if there's a list somewhere but there's a furry one

#mastoadmin help needed, boosts welcome. My own server’s redis process is refusing connections from other services because I suppose too much load. It starts and stops working again from time to time but most of the time it’s refusing connections and making my server throw 500 errors at most requests.
Apart from upgrading the server is there anything I can do to alleviate the situation right now?
@acegikmo there's this option but it doesn't do anything for me (though that migh be because of the glitch-soc fork, which has separate controls)

@trisschen the first one is because they unified the logged-out and logged-in view for ease of maintenance… I don't like it either but more because I dislike the single-column layout
