shoutout to OG Xbox installer 2021 for making fixing my Xbox super quick and easy

Show thread

@dogo it's quite zippy, at least running ME. I never realized it could handle XP as a kid and I'm kinda glad I didn't, I kept running out of memory in ME already

@dogo neat, my first computer was a 1.44 GHz Athlon XP with 128MB or RAM and a GeForce 2MX. Still works great, I only had to repaste it at some point to stop it from overheating and turning off. I gave it a gig of RAM and a USB 2 card it desperately needed and I'm thinking about getting a GPU that can do DX9 next

re: hbomberguy's savage take on jblow

@clarfonthey I liked the Witness but even that game by itself makes Blow look like a pretentious douche

@monorail I never thought about how bad Bowser's timing is, but then again, how much time passes between Mario games, does Peach just get kidnapped every week? Is she inviting Mario over because she's thankful he rescued her the last time?

@SirTapTap@mastodon.social fwiw aurahack just launched a shop on fourthwall.com, never heard of it but they do have some well-known creators on their start page

@SirTapTap@mastodon.social I don't run any myself but I haven't heard the best things about Spring[1]. As a consumer I'm happy to see a Shopify setup because at least it'll work and properly display shipping + taxes

re: Code

@socks yeah that's usually my reaction after writing three lines of bash

re: Code

@socks it's different code from yours, yours works the same for me (zsh)

@wxcafe@social.wxcafe.net that'd actually be a really nice feature to steal from Twitter, I use it a ton on there

there's probably external social graph tools that could generate sth like that though

@astra_vulpes I'm guessing the text is so you don't have to remember what it means. It's also the only sign that's an octagon specifically because it's so important… dunno how internationally recognized the word "stop" is, it's very similar to the German "stopp"

re: Code

@socks fwiw:

% for x in a b c; do echo "x: $x"; done
x: a
x: b
x: c

and

% for x in "$(echo "a b c")"; do echo "x: $x"; done
x: a b c

re: Code

@socks wait, which of the two behaviors do you want?

@CyclopsCaveman@octodon.social ah, sorry I do not have that context :D
