Apple engineered a situation in which true browser competition was not allowed on iOS, making Safari's terrible platform the best anyone could get.
Having defanged browser competition, they leveraged Safari to extract monopolistic rents. That it *also* protected the App Store from real competition was a nice-to-have:

btw, if you select "CS:GO Legacy" in the beta settings for CS2 you can have both installed at the same time. Obvs no matchmaking and stuff but it's nice to have the option
@pandora_parrot well, the optics are also a big part of the equation, I think, you can use the same resolution at a bigger or smaller angle… in the end I really just wanna try it
