iPadOS 18 beta icons musings
I finally found the icon theming settings on my iPad (it's behind the edit button in the top left while in wiggle mode) and I gotta say, who greenlit this, I can't get it to look good
dark mode might work once third parties roll out their own icons (though I don't even like Apple's)
large icons (without labels) look a bit fisher-price-y to me, and I hate that it also affects the app library. might be nicer on a phone, idk
@luna looks pretty gay ngl
@foone the cheapest ones on aliexpress totally do that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikjOEaPY6Rk&pp=ygUKZWFzeXRocmVlZA%3D%3D
@pup_hime *pets enthusiastically*
@maximemelian never heard of microsoft math solver but there have been so many handwriting-to-calculator apps over the years 🤷
@maximemelian I've been using https://apps.apple.com/us/app/uno-calculator/id1464736591 for a while now and it looks really nice, it resizes well and it has a light and dark mode so no, I don't think it's hard to design a good-looking calculator
@Eramdam some maths has always worked in notes so yeah probably
@onfy I mean, it lets them sell one chip to a lot of different customers with different requirements
@onfy oh I'm sure it's still the early days for risc-v, with arm being bogged down by license bullshit it's gonna get interesting
ooo Siivagunner dropped a bunch of Antonymph rips (starting with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9j2ipmkwls)
@mcc you can probably do the same thing in Files
@mcc in firefox I just press the "open" button when it's finished downloading the file, it shows me a list of all epub-compatible apps
