@elilla oh, and afaik the connections between phone exchanges have been IP for way longer
@elilla I mean technically the internet is designed to be resilient… it all comes down to money, maintaining two communication networks vs one

@elilla your landline is a voip connection to Telekom. pretty much everyone's is these days, rip ISDN. you might be able to get info on that in some obscure forum? idk, most ppl just use a fritzbox.

the old copper in your walls is probably not hooked up to anything
@elilla I wouldn't be suprised if your router came with an adapter to break out two or three TAEs (the German phone plug) in the box
