ooh yeah just putting on new thermal paste and loosely sticking on the cooler does't seem to be ideal for graphics card temps

gotta figure out a way to properly secure this heatsink, I guess, I'm definitely not supergluing it back on

how hard is it to cut a trace on a graphics card when trying to remove superglue with a screwdriver? asking for a friend

Show thread

ah shoot Windows bluescreens on boot, I might've broken the card :/

Show thread

I got the superglued heatsink off the graphics card

I guess it's not really good for anything that gets very few views

Show thread

I wonder how viable it would be if people just started distributing their video content over Bittorrent (I guess that's almost what peertube is)

since Youtube is down, you can now pay me postage for me to burn any of my videos to a DVD and mail it to you

CONCLUSION:

Youtube was running the libssh server.

and I'm pretty sure stuff that would dissolve the superglue would dissolve the card too lol

Show thread

I strongly assume the problem is the thermal paste but the friend I got it from superglued the cooler on, and did a dang good job too

Show thread

ah it sucks that I can't really try out this quadcore because when i put a load on this GPU for too long it gets too hot and shuts off

meh, apparently my macgyver GPU cooler* doesn't work anymore
*a case fan just laying on the heatsink

and I just learned that the heatsink is superglued on lmao
