well, TIL where that "how likely are you to recommend to your family and friends" survey question comes from

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Net_Prom

also, about the game: It's not amazing, but imo you can tell the team had a small budget and they did what they could with it. As campy as the cutscenes are, the cinematic camera angles are pretty cool and I was actually impressed at times. The environments are pretty cool. I still wouldn't recommend the game unless you're already a RE fan and you have a lightgun. Playing it with a mouse in an emulator is also a good option but the lightgun really helps make the game feel right

Oh yeah, update: I didn't conserve ammo and health items well enough to survive the final boss of Resident Evil:Survivor. You really need all the firepower you can get for that one. Spent all my remaining three continues and I swear I got super close to finishing it off on the last one but I guess it wasn't meant to be. Next time I'll mean business!

I really wish Gnome 3 wouldn't randomly forget my Icon theme, or my Cursor theme

death, kids, asking for money

I know times are tough for everyone right now, but I figured I'd share my family's GoFundMe campaign here anyway. my sister died unexpectedly on Saturday, leaving my wonderful 11 year old niece Piper without any parents. we are setting up a trust fund to help with whatever she may need now and into the future. I'm the closest person she has to a parent and I will be adopting her.

the fact that everyone keeps their distance speaks volumes about how well-organized and risk-aware those protesters are

it also makes the crowd look even bigger than it is

us, covid, landlords

Reading a story about a landlord who had the brilliant idea to check if their tenants got stimulus checks by yoinking data from move-in applications and credit checks and getting their check status from the IRS website.

That's only felony fraud against the federal government, y'know.

Gods, landlords think they're the most important creatures on earth don't they?

Anyway PSA: If a landlord says they know for certain you got a check, they likely got that info via fraud.

oh no over Ring Fit being unavailable (unless you wanna pay scalper prices) I've caught myself seriously considering picking up a Balance Board

A long time ago this was the default profile picture on Mastodon

for context, in case you didn't know: these only work on a CRT, because they actually use the timing of the electron beam going across the screen to measure where it's pointing
