thinking about installing a webcam in my kitchen so I can keep an eye on my stove from my desk

I guess I could still do *something* with this phone, especially if I get the broken USB port fixed, it's still a fairly powerful little device

completely unrelated, why haven't we switched to eSIM for everything yet

oh right and the SIM tray is soldered onto the mainboard so if I do that myself I'd have to wait until I can safely meet someone who can teach me SMD (de)soldering

still, I'd like to get this fixed because the phone is fine, it's literally just the ports that are failing, the parts are less than 10€ it's just a pain to take apart and put back together

welp, I got the piece of broken SIM tray out of my old phone, but it still won't read my SIM, I guess it was a good call to replace the device because if I get this fixed it'll take quite a while (and probably not be worth it, considering the price of a used LG G6)

I'm glad high quality linear actuator are a thing now because I love the feeling

except the one on the iPhones where the home button is fake, I hate that, which is interesting because I love Apple's fake trackpad

I used to hate haptic feedback for things on my phone but that was because it doesn't feel great with a traditional rotating weight
