A lot of people don’t know this one weird trick — much like JavaScript, C also lets you perform arithmetic with mixed types:

when my robovac hasn't run its room detection algorithm (which considers any small enough gap a door) it will just divy up everything into rectangles and vacuum those, it's kinda funny

Yes! Because each of these carts is a tiny *computer*! That's how the Cassette Vision worked! The "console" is basically just a bridge from the cart to the TV (and the controls). There's a whole ass CPU inside each of these carts and *that's* what the game runs on!
