My girlfriend’s parents offered us plane ticket to #Amsterdam for christmas. We plan to go there in April and stay for 3 days. However, the places to stay look expensive and often not worth it (not clean, with many people, far from the historical center…), even on Airbnb. My advice: Be liberal with blocking and muting because that is necessary in order to function in online spaces these days.
Our species evolved in an environment where we might never meet more than a few hundred others over the course of our lifetime. We weren't made to be accessible to millions at their whim.
Your feed is a space you own, not a commons: Blocking/muting someone is the equivalent of no longer proactively inviting them over, which is solely your prerogative.
