Okay big news on the EU citizen petition to ban the use of "conversion therapy" (IE "curing" or perhaps "torturing into submission") on LGBTQs—

BE, NL and SI came through and last night the initiative *met* the 7 countries goal! It needs 330,000 more signatures before the 17th to pass, which sounds rough, but it's got *420,887* in just 5 days, so things are actually on a good pace. This will at least be really close, and this could happen!

I haven't seen many people boost that FUD "Someone popped Steam and is selling logins" article like I've seen in other places (cookie for y'all), but just to make absolutely sure: the leak was old text messages to validate logins and link phone numbers to accounts; no passwords, no other info.

If you want to change your Steam password and shuffle your 2FA feel free but the severity of the breach/leak was vastly overblown by a game of telephone through four or five media entities punching up the severity of the event to get clicks.

it took some struggling with Inkscape (not Inkscape's fault) but I can now put blobhajar* on every print

Mutual aid request

I've been bedridden for the last 6 months, unable to work as I try to get a surgeon and insurance lined up for my operation to let me work again.
If you could send a couple dollars, it'd really help. Time isn't on my side here, and waiting is very expensive.

@Natasha_Jay Statens Vegvesen (Norwegian Public Roads Administration) actually has a propane-powered waffle iron made from two manhole covers, which they bring to events

If you're an EU citizen, please sign this initiative proposing a ban on conversion practices targeting LGBTQ people (a.k.a. conversion "therapy"). To be considered, it needs to reach 1 million signatures by the end of this week as well as country-specific thresholds.

Linux/old tech question

So. I have this like, 20-year-old Rio mp3 player that still works and has music on it. Nearest I can tell, it's a Rio Forge, tho it doesn't have any branding on it besides the Rio logo, and it looks slightly different from the Forge. It's yellow and black with a red control button/nipple/joystick/whatever. I tried using the 'rio' CLI program to access the files on it, but apparently that was written for the Rio Diamond. Does any1 know how to access the files on this thing?

followup, it's fucked up how I can watch some of these plants grow, they'll be a bit bigger each day

I think not ironing your pride flags looks bad

my only take on the new material design is that it looks so good inject it into my veins

someone wants a stack of semi/defective imx8mq modules before we throw them out? (boundary devices nitrogen 8m, 4gb ram, don't remember how much emmc).

it's nice that they're in firefox now but something about vertical tabs just doesn't mesh with my brain
