re: Life, Body Stuff, Autism -
I'm worried that sounds melodramatic
But I've either got the worst case of food poisoning I've ever had from some falafel (highly unlikely), a weirdass response to going back on Quetiapine (only slightly less unlikely), or my body is telling me I'm pushing too hard in New And Exciting Ways
So I may be literally too sick to do the journey back solo/early. Still.. Will be home one way or another tomorrow, come hell or high water. That's the important thing.
Life, Body Stuff, Autism -
I put a great deal of time, effort and money into going into an irl meetup thing.
It went exactly as they tended to when I stopped going to them. (aka: "Sideshow Bob stepping on rakes")
Still. Is only tonight and tomorrow left, then I'm home again.
Will try to foreshorten tomorrow as much as possible, but that depends a lot on physical symptoms that have been made a lot worse by this.
Might not be physically feasible in my current state.
I swear to god this place needs an exorcism.

[ Architecture of Control - ]
Birmingham New Street has recently tried to update its image, presumably to drag itself away from its well-established national reputation as a Non-Euclidean Despair Warren.
(Whenever you mention you're passing through Birmingham New Street, the news will usually be greeted much as if you just said you're due to catch an unfortunate illness; A grimace, sincere condolences and hopes that it will pass as quickly and painlessly as possible)
Part of this attempt to update its image has been adding what can only euphemistically be described as 'benches' along the taxi rank;
For the understandably-confused, these benches can be identified as the row of angry concrete blocks with metal spikes jutting from the edges.
..Yeah, those ones.
If there were any proof needed that some spirit inherent in New Street has a seething hatred for humanity, this would be it.

re: jokey offended, pooptoot
@StarshipAmelia To be fair, I think most of it's in Italian because it was invented/discovered in Italy, so I'm not sure it's stealing so much. :P
Just having it carry over to other langs because "that's the word for it" is.. Another needless barrier to learning imo?
Like, I've been doing this stuff on-and-off since I was 16 and *still* have to stop to remind myself every now and then that no, this is not all an elaborate prank
God Western music notation/terminology is a butt
Just.. Just throw it out and replace it with something where one word doesn't have a half-dozen different potential meanings
And half of them are old Italian words
And we've got some stuff left in from, uh *checks notes* ..Medieval church organs?
..Yeah, maybe get a feather duster in here
@theoutrider @bentosmile I don't like Fanon-Reading Sisko ('what a renegade rulebreaking space-badass'), so that makes accepting this slightly easier!
Even though I disagree on Sisko/Brookes overall. :D
@Kye@snouts.online @theoutrider Minimalist Space Christmas Tree
@theoutrider & @bentosmile don't like Deep Space 9 and the Les Miserables musical
But despite these failings they're still two of my Problematic Faves here and I'm grateful to be friends with them both
🌈 No obstacle can withstand the power of forgiveness and that's beautiful 🌈
@noiob Ahhgosh right in the nostalgia
The hand-me-down minidisc player I had as a teen still has a place in my heart. ;w;
(also get them in *all the rainbow colours*. It's obligatory)
@daylight half the inspirations for this were pilfered from images you posted on your Discord channel :D
@Doggo Thankyou! That really means a lot to me. ✨
This is a graffiti-free zone.
