I should get back into Twine maybe

Idk

For a while I was part of The Queer Indie Gamedev Scene and it was rad?

But then I stopped cuz a lotta reasons (Also not being on Twitter is kinda a barrier to being in any sort of scene tbh)

Butyeah, Twine is good, and I was good at it. (2.X is a strange new world etc etc, but 1.4.2? I can do that yeah, and it's where all the macros I've used/made live)

queer pol, general pol

NSFW/SFW is a social construct, pals, and not one without pitfalls and power dynamics.

Which identities and their associated traits and behaviours are 'Wholesome, Fine, Self-Expression"

And which are "That's Sexual, Keep It Hidden"

..Is politically loaded, culturally rooted, constantly shifting, and highly weaponizable.

Read up on enough queer history and you'll get a looong timeline of these shifting boundaries and identities

And how people smack each other with 'em to great effect

Cuz:
- Longbat is long, and the cushion's for a standard chair with shorter length, so I had to pad out the back seperately
- Now the rim covers are Green, there's nowhere near enough Purple in the ~aesthetic~. (the standard cushion is in Melancholic Institutional Grey, too)
- My chair didn't come with sideguards, so clothes get dirtied by tires too much. Can do sideguards mounted on the cushion with sufficient interfacing & structure.

Show thread

I've been sewing a cushion cover for my wheelchair lately, and am trying to remember to like, take photos semi-regularly.

@pup_hime That's.. So much awful in one picture

It appears to be a pirate-themed novelty cafe for minimal-living hipsters, which isn't something I'd have thought needed to exist, but ok

And.. They went with chairs that'd be *torture* for anyone with a spinal column

And tables too low to sit at (with special "no whelchair-users" bars between the legs)

The whole space just seems designed to make sitting in conversation distance with someone else as difficult as possible

and yet

Total War: Three Kingdoms Pooptooting

News soon spread through China that Guan Yu takes criticism of his air guitar routine rather poorly

Overwatch Pooptooting

Hammond the Hamster is the most subversive Overwatch character cuz he steals and recycles the tools of an oppressive institution to free himself from it

send toot

@theoutrider This is a common misconception

It is a traditional British architectural convention to leave one wall for the 'Fairy Window'. These will show up in the blueprints and work like any other window, the sole difference is that they only appear under direct light from a full moon.

An increase in light pollution in recent decades has reduced the practical utility of Fairy Windows, but many houses in the UK are still designed around them

web pol

@ellavescent Media corporation web is just one big input overload of deliberately clogging up what you're actually there for.

It scares me cuz so much online interaction and 'keeping up' (with people, groups or media) obliges using those spaces.

All those comic jokes about 90s/00s websites that were just 99% popup ads don't seem as outdated as they used to. x.x

If I'm trying to be more sociable I should really do an intro post, since my profile's kinda minimal..

But I'm not doing great today (no sleep, among other things x.x), so.. Not now.

*flop*

@witchfynder_finder have you tried a sponge, or a dish sponge (idunno the right word, but the ones with a coarse layer on one side)?

I generally use those when something needs really-scrubbing (but not getting scratched to hell), and I don't want any papery stuff left behind.

@ellavescent it's like those Youtube videos where you get a leopard or bear or something playing with tiny puppies

Game Silliness [Total War: Three Kingdoms]

the "Average spearman solos an entire army every night" factoid is inaccurate. Charging Georg is a statistical outlier who should not be counted

re: :ad: Codex: Card-Time Strategy, con't //

@Lioness Is there an online client, or do you play it on Tabletop Simulator, OCTGN, or something similar?

re: mentions war, mentions animal violence

@theoutrider @pup_hime @daylight

I think my favourite one is the Battle of Drepana:

The head of the Roman forces, Publius Claudius Pulcher, heard that the auspices (sacred chickens) foretold that the battle would be a disaster, and threw the sacred chickens into the sea, ordering everyone on to battle anyway.

The chickens were absolutely right: He lost horribly, and gave Carthage a huge victory over Rome.

Pushing his troops from "We're all going to die!" to "We're all going to die! And the gods hate us!" probably had some part to play in that.
