Finally made a pun so bad to get a partner to groan and make a face of despairing disappointment for a good 5 seconds

A bizarre bit of trivia I will always treasure is when a colony of leafcutter ants escaped inside the Millennium Dome

adhd, reddit being reddit

istg anytime someone posts a problem on r/adhd there will be 3 people piping up to say they've had that problem, and it's actually the best thing that ever happened to them

(There's Slay the Spire filling a lot of that time too, I just tend to assume most people into such things have already heard of it)

Recently been spending a lot of time with turn-based roguelites. Griftlands is very good. Renowned Explorers is surprisingly deep. Both have multifaceted gameplay that goes indepth into non-combat options, which is cool.

Griftlands has an excellent snail mom-friend and a lot of emergent "that rando you bought a drink for/beat up earlier is suddenly really important" character stuff

Renowned Explorers has a luchador lady delivering crushing verbal putdowns on passing sheep

Both are good

AEW Dynamite 2/12/20

I spent the whole of the Omega/Moxley match wondering why the guy with Kenny Omega was wearing a rose on his lapel

And then Jon Moxley pushed him and it exploded like they were in Utena

Wrestling is anime, okay

I love that The Dark Order can be the biggest scary heel faction in AEW's main show and also an adorable family of dorks on the sidelines

re: After intense study and research I have identified the locus points of Dad Energy in the AEW roster

The day after I posted this Kenny Omega said "My dad could beat up your dad" to John Moxley

I don't know how much more meta you can get than that, really

After intense study and research I have identified the locus points of Dad Energy in the AEW roster

Rebel Dad:

Jon Moxley is the sound the universe makes if you play every Bruce Springsteen song at the same time, and the platonic avatar of "my dad is tougher than your dad" playground arguments.

BBQ Dad:

Billy Gunn was first slated to be introduced as a new neighbour in the fabled 'lost season' of King of the Hill. Throws excruciating parties.

Dino Dad:

Luchasaurus is the wrestling incarnation of those Youtube videos about a bear raising orphaned puppies (only the bear is a dinosaur). The patron saint of "Never talk to me or my son (or my other son) ever again".

Should the Three Dads ever ride out together as a tag team, the jokes that would ensue would rip apart time and space.

rewatching Babylon 5, realising how much it influenced the Imperial Radch books by Anne Leckie

I have a whole lot of fondness for both, so seeing the influences and parallels is cool

Listening to The Devil And The Dark Water at the moment, is good book

Also picked up The Return Of The Obra Dinn

Guess I'm on a 'spoopy tallship mysteries' vibe with my media atm

It's a good vibe though

social, mh -

Not sure why I've become so socially isolated online as well as off this year. Drifted away from here a lot because I don't really feel.. Connected, I guess. I don't really know how to fix that.

Sleep +

Sleeping on my back is very difficult, but can mostly happen with pillows under my knees/at my sides. And reduces shoulder and wrist pain a lot for me.

Thinkin about pain & EDS stuff, goals

- Gotta keep strengthening my wrists
- Find good exercises to safely strengthen muscles around my shoulder joint
- Establish some sort of daily schedule to remember & keep to these

- Wear wrist braces when I sleep more b/c subluxing in my sleep
- Learn to sleep on my back if at all possible, b/c subluxing shoulders in my sleep on my side

- Keep a copy of ehlers-danlos.com/pdf/2018-ann on my tablet to show doctors, because it's so useful

re: Medical, Disability, -

Also the "no-one joins the dots" thing is so true

My joints are one problem. They are not the only problem, or even the biggest problem my EDS causes.

But no-one gets told about the other symptoms, because they're not the diagnostic criteria. So unless you're seeing a specialist, of which there are none, they will never be considered.

Medical, Disability, -

"Because EDS covers every area of the body, and every medical discipline, what is really needed are specialist centres or clinics where care can be co-ordinated. There is only 1 such unit in the whole of the UK and it’s in London at UCLH, so unless you live there you’re scuppered. They do have a 2 week inpatient unit, but afterwards you’re sent back to where you live with no follow-through. Many people with EDS therefore find they are just left to get on with it, or see Consultant after Consultant with no specialist knowledge of EDS. No-one joins the dots or looks at the disease as a whole which can be highly frustrating!"

This so much

This is why I'm rapidly turning into one of those "eh why bother seeing a doctor, it's not worth it" types

Not because I think I'm immortal or I'll get eaten by an evil vaccine

Just being so, so tired of 101 advice for other, more common conditions, from a string of clinicians who've never even heard of it -.-
