If you take issue with somebody's content and can't bring yourself to speak to them without yelling or harassment- consider *only* reporting and being very detailed with your feelings and stance

The fediverse is a public commons and it is immoral to take from it without consideration of your effects on the sustainability of the network. The use of network salience for political ends should be considered with high degrees of suspicion. The justification of "I must protect my users above all else." is fundamentally a xenophobic argument. The impact on all users must be considered. When those with power have other options we must evaluate their choices in that context.
