Some of mine. Maybe not that obscure really, but:
Star Wars Episode 1:racer. Podracing game. Actually pretty cool.
Re-Volt, a kart racing game where you play RC cars.
The weirdest of the bunch: Vangers, a russian-developed scifi car exploration/combat game I honestly never got very far in because the UI was unbelievably muddy and hard to read.
Okay Mastodon! What weird/obscure video games did you play a ton of as a kid because they were all you had access to?

Procedural/random content works exceptionally well for this game, since there's literally no way of predicting what will happen if you keep on trying to find a better home. Maybe things will work out, maybe you'll never see as good a planet again, maybe a micrometeorite will smash your sensors or probes and make things harder.
Interacting with people on Awoo/Mastodon is helping my friend group become more diverse!

Oh, this is for a ref sheet. I'd be a lot less impatient if it was for more general art, but since it's a ref sheet I'm holding off on getting anything else until I have it.

If an artist you're commissioning says they'll be "really slow", what expectation does that set? I opened a commission with an acquaintance quite a while ago and sent a finalized description on the 28th of march. I got an message received confirmation 2 weeks later, and haven't heard anything since. I was told not to send payment until I got at least a basic sketch.
I commissioned them b/c their anatomy drawing is good and I'm too nervous to approach a stranger.

@FragileVal the internet made me trans and that's a very good thing. Supportive communities are so important, and I wish parents etc didn't think repression is an actual solution.
D&D story
@vahnj dang in my game of Dresden Files RPG tonight I /shredded/ some goons the abusive fundie cult I grew up in sent to try and abduct me, which was kind of re-traumatizing. They almost succeeded. Then I had an intense conversation with the priest in our party about the ethics of violence. I'm kind of still decompressing after the session ended for the night.
RPGs are a good space for doing morally dubious shit in a safely sandboxed environment.
