@noiob I've tried to read it twice and bounced off both times. It's kind of a mess. My ex said it "succeeds despite the author, not because of him."

@noiob I dunno I don't really think it can be saved. Even if you were also playing an orc then it's just the Drow from D&D all over again.

@noiob Anyway I got the game on sale for like four bucks so I don't feel too horribly let down. It's also not like it was anything other than advertised.

I just remembered people saying "hey this is really fun!"

and for me it wasn't.

@noiob tbf, a lot of my frustration was also that I kept running into the same chief and he kept kicking my ass more and more decisively/

@noiob I felt like a plot /existed/, but it really connect with the game and all I had to actually do was go kill the given orcs.

@noiob I didn't get quite that far. It was just show up, here's some orcs you should go kill.

@noiob it felt genocidal to me, honestly. And yeah I get that it comes straight from Tolkein but that didn't make it any more fun to play.

@noiob Killing orcs was the /goal/, not a means to any end.
