me for months: "I wonder where I can get clubwear type stuff that fits my style"
me now: "heck I have a soldering iron and very vaguely know how to sew and code."
GX/Midboss article
Katherine Cross (Quinnae_Moon on twitter) wrote up a really good article discussing her involvement in GaymerX/Midboss as well as bringing all the details in one place and painting a real good picture about what the result of this is
The big challenge is that you have to be self-motivated as a player. There's not much pointing you towards you goals or even really telling you what they are.
Also, completely unexpected from an exploration/survival game, Subnautica has an great sense of humor.
The game is made much stronger by using a fixed map instead of being purely random/procedural. It helps the pacing a whole lot.
"Okay so I feel like I'm starting to understand the scope of things -- oh wait, heck, there's two new biomes!"
it's also important to understand that there can be different types of chairs for different activities.
wheelchairs for sport like basketball or dancing often sacrifice all but the bare minimum for maximum lightness – because once again, these are not intended as fulltime chairs.
some manual chairs get converted into power chairs by attaching motors on the spokes of the tyres, and you push like normal instead of with a joystick.
many attach a large front tyre for offroad purposes.
reminder that if you're drawing a fulltime wheelchair user character – draw them in an "active user wheelchair" (googling that will get you pictures) or power chair.
folding chairs like in hospitals and shops are ONLY intended for temporary transport from place to place – NOT full time use. there are many aspects of them which will injure you if you self-propel fulltime.
characters should only be using temporary chairs fulltime if, eg, money is an issue for them in the story.
anyway I read it like five years ago and still think about it sometimes (clearly) so maybe that's worth something?
