Moana Spoilers, sad dad feels
But she seemed pretty fixated on the fact that Moana's dad was right, that Moana shipwrecked because she disobeyed her dad, and I felt like I'd failed her somehow.
Moana Spoilers, Dad feels
When Moana shipwrecks the first time, just before going beyond the reef, my 4yo daughter whispered, "Her dad was right."
When we took a break for dinner, I told her, "Moana's dad told her not to go beyond the reef because he loves her and wants to keep her safe, right?"
"Yeah."
"But Moana wants to try new things, and that's okay. So if YOU ever want to try new things, tell me and I'll listen. I'll help you. I want you to be safe, but I also want you to be happy."
Speaking of income, if you're interested in hiring an autodidact full-stack developer who's got the patience to look for difficult edge-case solutions (and the understanding to know when they're edge cases), or if you know someone who is, please drop me a line.
(Regardless, please boost this status so others can see it - especially if you're on another instance!)

Website owners: if you want people to whitelist your site in their ad blocker, don't say "we rely on ads for funding, please whitelist us :)". Nobody is blocking ads because they WANT to deny you funding.
Instead, say something like:
"We understand why you block ads. We promise never to run flashing, noisy, or intrusive ads. Here's a link to our ad policy (link), which includes instructions on how to report an ad that violates that policy (link)."
I'd whitelist that in a heartbeat.
