sometimes my entire team gets just wiped and locked down, and then proceed to walk, single file, into a mob of enemies for seemingly the rest of the match

i just thought i was getting really unlucky with my teammates

actually, that's why i don't luna very much anymore, because it relies on having turf inked to be effective, and that has some pretty sketchy reliability

it was kinda hard to get abilities to match up with my aesthetic

as for chunks, i scrubbed a LOT
and also ran out of money a lot

it takes time to get 30 of anything, but once you have that, that's basically one set of perfect gear in the bank

@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz my shoes were a complete fluke, and my hat was the result of lots of scrubbing and lots of swim speed up drinks

basically, if you can get two of the ability you want on gear, you can fill the last slot in with 30 chunks for that ability

the trick to getting drink tickets is usually salmon run, but you can also buy them in single player if you level up every weapon and sub to it's max

@monorail it's true that's kinda tricky initially, but that's actually pretty attainable too!

i mean, i actually have quite a few trans friends, and they often don't have to say anything for others to recognize their gender

so, i know it's rough right now, but you can totally do that too..!

my luna has won me a lot of games, because you can get really aggressive with it--and flanking with ninja squid is extremely effective

the brella basically means i can super jump to anywhere, and it takes out shooters really nicely 1v1. (but buckets destroy it!)

the classic squiffer is probably the most aggro sniper, and it does zoning really well

i also sometimes like the carbon roller

i am really bad with buckets though

what kind of weapons do you like?

i used to use the luna blaster a lot, but i'm finding my classic squiffer game is getting pretty good, and the brella has some really nice utility

if this is about snouts.online and awoo, that wasn't actually because of a single user--it was because of a lot of harassment coming from snouts, and the moderators there ignoring it

(i agree it would be totally nuts if it was just an admin grudge--because that's really easily abusable)

@sugar i think it's more about being conscious about the company you keep and controlling your environment

if it doesn't bug you to be on an instance that doesn't moderate away nasty peeps, then staying on an instance that federates with everything is probably fine

but if it does, then whitelist-based instances would possibly be more your jam

in theory, the only peeps you can't talk with are ones who specifically choose to be on an instance that lets bad things happen

it has a lot of neat tricks in it that can make you much more likely to succeed at following through if you decide to take the plunge

the way schools teach language is not the only way to do it, and you might find other ways more effective or enjoyable

also, definitely look into spaced repetition, since it makes language learning significantly easier than you'll likely remember it being
